Water, it's time to wake up!

I was searching some green design which already exists in India. From old historical places to new ways of harvesting green energy. In MA there was always a common question asked by my friends to everyone (including me!) about inspiration... People answer they Google the images, they searched on the web, they searched in the books but I use to find they don't focus on history. The entire searches made were from last 10-20 years.
I wanted to change my own design strategy. I always been in love with history and geography, learning these and relating them to design made the product or design more conceptual, because we are not only improving the old experiments or traditions but also we can visualise the design with better possibilities.

I just watched a video from TED, where a old guy from Rajasthan explain how they save water, but in London I have seen few people who are crying if the water supply fails for 2 hours due to pipe breakdown! Just look at the amazing inspiration from traditional Indian history.



In my recent project for digital forming, the brief was given us called 'tool' and I was very much searching new ways of expressing the word. I found tool is a communication of comfort expressed in different modes and design. I decided to merge two green technologies to one product. Let’s say I am saving some material and cost.

I decided to build green tree which can absorbs solar energy and can be used to lightened low energy bulbs with rain water harvesting system, which can collect rain water and can be used for gardens, sewage system.

'Think do' New approach to design in future

Till today early morning I was experimenting with Photoshop. I found new really cool plug in which actually give some refined look to my photographs I already taken. 

From yesterday I was thinking about brand and design. Because even in my MA design class I can see most of the designers wanted Brand not only the work of graphic designers, it should be the feel and experience inside and outside the space. They see brand as a 'design motivation' rather than 'design & art'.

I watched a presentation by David Butler who is vice president of Coca-Cola Brand. From his point of view, we need to think 10 years further as a designer and predict the system which will be more helpful to us. 10 years from now we will see thrice the population; India will have millionaires which will be equal to the population of Canada and Australia. Just Imagine if this will happen, the responsibility of designers will change from,
1. Art & design to Design & Innovations 
2. Designing things to Designing systems
3. Creating ideas to creating values
4. Linear problems to wicked problems
5. The world of design to Design of the world

Therefore it will not only remain about self approach, it will be an open source approach to the world.

Bill Gates in the early 21st century gave the next 10 years view, he said 2000 to 2010 will be mainly about networking... yes it was true to greater extent, facebook, orkut, MySpace were the dominated names of these centuries but now we are in the stage where we need to set the goals from 2010 to 2020. 

The phase will be a very important because we are on the edge of saving our planet and making a sustainable progress towards new approach.

Structure --- behaviour --- results will be the key.

You need to focus on hierarchy of this system, not just results! Results are depending on behaviour of the system but we cannot change the behaviour without building a better structure!

So, the future will not be only on green or sustainable design. Green terminology will evolve further & It will be on productive thinking and functional approach to creative values.

Dramatic ---- free flowing 2 days

I have taken the launch of my website very seriously. Working hard on concept generation to execution. Today after two long days I finally generated a design. Its 3 am and I am still working on my project, eventually I found my reporter friend on line. Great to see him after long time and good news is, he is coming to London in March 10. Now thinking about his project on green design in farm house.

Welcome to idioting

Today I am going to start my official website blog. The blog is mainly about designing, idea generation process and sharing personal experience while doing MA and hopefully through my professional career.

Today is x'mas Eve so I am hoping everyone is enjoying the world's most famous festival with their loved ones. Wish you happy x'mas.

I am hoping to see a white 'mas this year after a week long snow fall in London... but it seems to me the chances are rare...
